The joystick can be twisted to control an aircraft’s rudders, but this function can be locked to disable the twist function and confine rudder control to the X- and Y-axes. The throttle features adjustable tension and includes detents (physical markings indicating where certain actions activate, such as an aircraft’s idle, afterburners, and reverse thrusters). The LCD display features adjustable backlighting and gives users the ability to view and interact with in-game radio stack information with a few popular flight simulators. The X52 Pro includes illuminated ‘critical’ buttons on the stick and throttle to help users quickly find the right buttons. Because of the dual-spring centering mechanism, the stick becomes more resistant to movement as it moves farther from the centered position. The Pro is the Saitek X52’s successor and includes an LCD (liquid crystal display) to show in-game data, a dual-spring centering mechanism with a metal cone that is designed to allow quick direction changes (the X52 uses only a single spring mounted vertically). It is designed for use with space and flight simulators. The Saitek X52 Pro is a HOTAS (hands-on throttle and stick) joystick and throttle combination simulation controller made by Saitek.
